Christian College ID Camp

June 19-20, 2020    $215    Grades:  Rising 11-12th

The purpose of the Christian College ID Camp is twofold. First and foremost the camp is meant to provide rising juniors and seniors with the opportunity to train at a high level. Second, it is meant to bring together individuals who seek to play at a Christian institution with Christian college coaches.

Christian Colleges Attended in 2019:
Cairn University (PA); Clark Summit University (PA); Covenant College (GA); Eastern University (PA); Eastern Mennonite University (VA); Eastern Nazarene College (MA); Geneva College (PA); Gordon College (MA); Grove City College (PA); Houghton College (NY); Lancaster Bible College (PA); Messiah College (PA) and Waynesburg University (PA).

Over 85% of the players on Messiah's roster attended ID Camp--a number of previous campers were identified and garnered spots at the other Christian colleges in attendance.

Messiah College staff, former staff, and alumni will be running the sessions, but college coaches will be observing the training and 11v11 games. In addition, college coaches will be provided with numbered rosters and contact information so they can follow up with players after camp. There will be a panel of college coaches Friday evening to discuss the recruiting process.

Field Player Training:The camp seeks to expose the players to in-depth technical and tactical training that is specific to the Messiah College men' soccer program. Campers will be assigned to a team and will train and play 11v11 with that group the entire camp.

Goalkeeper Training: We offer an excellent goalkeeper training section as part of our Christian College ID Camp. They train exclusively as goalkeepers for the training sessions and then are assigned a field for the evening sessions.

Evaluation: Each player will receive an assessment filled out by his Messiah camp coach that evaluates the player's ability in the following areas: possession, technical ability, attacking, defending, and attitude.
