Brad McCarty begins his 19th consecutive season on the bench for the Falcons' men's soccer program in 2019, and his eleventh as head coach and Director of the Messiah Boys Soccer Camps.  McCarty has overseen the development and growth of the summer programs to 5 different camps and over 1000 campers each summer.

Since taking over the reigns of the program in 2009, McCarty has kept the Falcons among the nation's best in men's soccer as he's led the team to five NCAA Division III Championships.  In his inaugural season as head coach, McCarty led Messiah to its seventh NCAA Division III National Championship, guiding his club to a 24-1 overall record. It was the program’s seventh national title in a 10-year stretch.

In the Fall of 2010, McCarty led the Falcons to another NCAA Division III National Championship. The team concluded the season with an overall record of 23-1. After suffering a NCAA Second Round upset in 2011, McCarty and the Falcons rose to the top once again with a 5-1 win over Ohio Northern in the 2012 National Championship. In 2013, the Falcons rode a thirlling 2-1 overtime win of Rutgers-Camden in the title game for the program's 10th Championship.  In 2017, McCarty and the Falcons defeated North Park 2-1 in the 2017 title match to claim the program's 11th NCAA Division III National Championship.

The Falcons’ top assistant coach for the previous eight years, McCarty helped Messiah to five of its first six NCAA Division III National Championships, returning to his alma mater at the outset of the 2001 season as the lead assistant. Success was quick to follow, as Messiah claimed national titles in the 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2008 seasons — posting an overall 173-14-8 (.908) record with McCarty on staff. During his time as an assistant coach, Messiah reached the Final Four in all but one season, while 15 NSCAA All-Americans and four NSCAA National Players of the Year came through the program.

McCarty graduated from Messiah in 1993 with a degree in health and physical education. He completed his master’s degree Summa Cum Laude at Wichita State University in December of 1997, focusing on sports administration. He resides in Dillsburg with his wife of more than 20 years, Jodi. The couple has four children: daughters Madison and Morgan, and sons Ian and Finnley.

2019 will mark Aaron Faro's eleventh season as the top assistant within the Messiah men's soccer program. A former standout on the soccer pitch for the Falcons, Faro is the Assistant Camp Director for the Messiah Boys Soccer Camps.  Faro provides leadership in the summertime as a Lead Coach on the staff for the Christian College ID Camp, Day Camp, and Resident Camps.  Faro also created two of the camps offered each summer--Team Camp and the Little Falcons Camp--and is the acting Director for those camps.

Prior to returning to his alma mater, Faro spent five years playing professional soccer while also working in sports ministry. Much of Faro’s experience stems from his work at Missionary Athletes International (MAI), one of the world leaders in sports ministry. Following graduation, Faro both played and worked for the United Soccer League’s Charlotte Eagles organization — a subsidiary of MAI. Faro’s playing career spanned five seasons with the Eagles, helping the club to the USL National Championship in 2005 while aiding to runner-up finishes in both 2004 and 2006.

Faro also spent four years of his playing career as the Charlotte Eagles camp director, overseeing all aspects of 20-plus camps each summer while managing over 60 staff members. Under Faro’s leadership, the Eagles’ sessions grew to include camps for high school and college teams as well as camps for underprivileged youth in the inner city and Hispanic communities of Charlotte.

Faro and his wife, Christine, reside in Mechanicsburg with their two daughters, Emma and Abby.

Sam Woodworth:
Lead Coach

Sam Woodworth enters his eighth season as an assistant coach in 2019, his twelfth-straight year with the Falcons. Woodworth is a 2012 graduate of Messiah College and was a member of the NCAA Division III National Championship teams in 2008, 2009, and 2010.

During his senior season in 2011, Woodworth earned First Team All-Commonwealth honors as a midfielder, and was also named CoSIDA Capitol Academic All-District. Over his four years on the pitch, the program collected a total record of 87-5-3.  Sam currently teaches in the Physical Education Department at the Mechanicsburg School District.
