Youth Camp

July 12-16, 2021  $175
Junior Youth Camp 9am-12pm
(Ages 7-9)
Senior Youth Camp 5:30-8:30pm (Ages 10-12)

Youth Camp is for players ranging from rec level to premiere level interested in competition, development, and fun. It is an individual skills based program that incorporates those basic techniques into a team/game setting.

Each youth camper will receive instruction on the essential skills of passing, receiving, dribbling, turning, etc. These skills are then developed even further in small sided games and other activities. The end of each day is set aside for "League Games" which provides an opportunity for their coaches to tie in the skills they have learned as well as teach basic attacking and defensive concepts.

The Junior Youth Camp is made up of 7-9 year-olds and/or U8/U9/U10.  The Senior Youth Camp is made up of 10-12 year-olds and/or U11/U12/U13.  If your 9 year old is playing U11 in the fall you have the choice to sign him up for the Junior Youth Camp in the morning or the Senior Youth Camp in the afternoon.  However, please be aware that there are 6th/7th Graders in the Senior Youth Camp.

COVID-19
In accordance with CDC and PA DOH guidelines masks are no longer required to be worn on Messiah's campus.  If we are forced to move indoors due to inclement weather, then the University is asking us to wear masks as we will all be in Miller Auditorium.  Last, we ask that parents monitor their children and check daily to see if they are feeling well prior to arriving on campus.

Goalkeeper Training: In addition to field player training we offer goalkeeper training at both the Junior Youth and Senior Youth Camps. They train together with our goalkeeper coaches during the Technical/Tactical Sessions then will be with their team for the Ladder Tournament and League Games.   If you want your son to receive goalkeeper training, you will be given the opportunity to sign up for it in the online registration process.

TESTIMONIAL FROM PARENT:

Brad,

I wanted to take a moment to commend you on a very successful week of camp. The boys from our area had a great time. But more importantly, the interest that your team shows in our kids is remarkable. At the end if the day, the kids aren't talking about goals scored, it's about the experiences shared with these young men.

I hope your players are aware of what an impact they have on our impressionable children. In a day where we struggle to find positive role models, your players and program shine.

Thanks again!
Amy, (Parent)

Each camper will be assigned a team with a coach that will be with them for the entire week.  Many of our staff members are former players of the Messiah program, now coaching on the high school and college levels, who provide a passionate soccer learning experience. A number of our current players in the Messiah's men's soccer program are chosen on the basis of their ability to teach, demonstrate, and positively motivate young soccer players. Our coach-to-player ratio is better than 1:9, and all staff must be committed to high moral and ethical standards, and are required to fill out background checks.

What to bring:
• Footwear: Molded cleats
• Shin Guards are required.
• Sun screen.
• Bring a water bottle that your son can carry from field to field with him.
